A little housekeeping note
Well, there's nothing quite like waking up to over 300 spam comments -- written in Chinese.
In case you're wondering, that's why word verification has been implemented on comments. It will take me a few days to clean out the spam as I delete them one by one in between bouts of bourbon-fueled rage.

Well, you're in Blogger so I can't really help much, but in my blog software which I wrote myself, I simply ask "What is 2+2?".
When I rolled out the software a few weeks ago, within minutes I started getting spam. As soon as I put a simple text box asking for the number 4, it disappeared completely.
Stupid spammers...
LOL I always thought verification was a smart idea.
Have you ever seen some that you just can't read though?
This one that JD is using is very easy to decipher though.
Ni hao ma, JD!
Are you sure, though, that they're not announcements that you've won the Taiwanese National Lottery? I can see the headlines in the Taipei Times: American Blogger Loses Fortune For Failure To Respond.
Probably, though they say, "If you can read this, you have a big future in Chinese Translation."
